Review : The Most Comfortable Work Boots – Redwing Iron Ranger #8085

Hello, Everybody! It’s Tony, today under blue sky we are looking at the red wing heritage number 80 85 the iron ranger and rough up. So if you’re on the fence about which iron Ranger you wanted to get yourself and it’s going to be your first pair of heritage boots stick around for the whole post. I’m going to try to cover this thing and all the little nuances that guys are always asking me about the heritage boots.

Answer Questions about Red Wing Iron Ranger #8085?

So question number one: I always get is which soul is best when it comes to the heritage boots. Well, in my opinion, the Vibram mini lug is the best when it comes to this type of boot the regular Vibram lug the black sole is just a little bit too much. If you’re not a boot guy. If you’re not wearing boots all the time having that big thick heavy almost a logger type sole underneath your foot.

If it’s not something that you normally wear. It’s going to feel foreign. You’re not going to wear them a lot. They’re not going to be comfortable now the cork sole the cork sole. In my opinion is like an ice skate. It’s never truly sticky on smooth floors when water is present now the vibrant mini lug. This beautiful soul is always like glue no matter what surface? You are walking across the mini lug is a wonderful sole and it kind of grows with you it breaks in with you this sole just takes on a natural shape.

Because you’re closer to the ground in this mini lug sole you actually get a better feel for where. You’re stepping and it makes it a lot more pleasurable having a sole that works with you when it comes to breaking in a pair of these like all these heritage boots. They are completely resolved bellari craftable rebuildable. However, you want to say it rip this sole off put a brand new one on no matter which number it is in the heritage lines they are going to be reso level now.

Here is number two leather guys always ask me which leather is the best ?. I have to say the best leather is the one that you like. Now, if you’re looking for a heritage boot. That’s going to maintain the color, that it is when you pull it out of the box. If you want to do that the best you can possibly do to keep this color that way is not where to boot just put it on the shelves when people come by they can look at it and they can see the color.

But if you don’t care that this boots going to get darker as you wear it and it will trust me it starts out in this beautiful light brown and within two or three months into this thing. It’s going to be a completely different shade and it’s not even from you cleaning it and oiling it because out of the box. There’s no reason to put any oil on this boot for. I’d say about eight weeks. It’s got oil already impregnated into the leather you have to let a little bit of that oil escape before you start putting more on top of there but in the meantime.

My advice for you in choosing the Most Comfortable Work boots?

You’re going to get a color change in the copper leather starts out beautiful. But it’s just going to end up dark brown, but that dark brown that it’s going to end up is going to be a beautiful dark brown. Because you got this beautiful handmade boot. That’s growing with you and that as it gets darker. It’s not going to look like any other pair of boots out there so single piece leather this thing is not waterproof. It’s not warm. If you’re buying this book thinking it’s going to be a winter boot and you’re going to be warm think again.

There’s nothing here to insulate you from the elements outside of a thick piece of leather and that brings me to my next thing. What size should I buy that is next to the leather question? Actually next to the sole question what size should I buy is probably the second most asked question? I get when it comes to heritage boots. Now everywhere you read everywhere you look everybody tells you half size down do?

I don’t agree with anybody telling anybody else how to buy a pair of shoes especially me? My best philosophy on that is going try them on you know what size shoe you wear you know what size boot you wear, so when it comes to a heritage boot when it comes to the iron Ranger or anything from any heritage maker go try them on put on your size put on a size above put on a half size below figure out.

Which one’s going to work for you the best you got to remember and you have to incorporate into buying a pair of these boots is? The fact that, it’s going to shape to your foot the more time and energy. You put into wearing this boot the more. It’s going to take on the natural memory and shape of your foot. Now you should make sure that the length the tip in the back are correct and that your toes aren’t rubbing too much on the sides.

But if you were to ask me: I would say you want to feel the boot on your foot. You don’t want your toe to constantly be hitting the front. You want a space in there maybe one finger maybe two depending on how sensitive your feet are. But you want some space inside in the front on the sides. You actually want to feel the leather a little bit. You don’t want it to be too constrictive but you want to feel it.

Because this boot is going to stretch. It’s a single piece of leather there is a cotton vamp inside here and there has to be. It’s just how you build a pair of shoes so that vamp and this leather are going to stretch as you start to move around as you start to sweat and as you start to just wear the crap out of these Comfort well for most guys. They’re not comfortable at all especially.

If you come from wearing gym shoes. If you spent your whole life in tennis shoes and basketball shoes and then you go to start wearing something like this. It’s not going to be comfortable and you might think okay. It’s comfortable but you honestly you go spend a couple of days wearing a parody’s around after you’re wearing gym shoes your whole life and you’re going to be miserable.

You’re kind of just feel like crap. So if this is something, you want to do if this is something. You want to take on in your life you want to start wearing boots like this take it slow buy the iron Ranger put it on for a day take it off for two days put it on for a day take it off for two days do that for a while break it in slowly. Because you got to understand it inside this boot is a chunk of leather that’s attached to a big chunk of cork.

That’s inside here that has a chunk of steel here and then you’ve got that beautiful Vibram sole so with all those hard materials to contend with you’re going to have to really push on this thing. You’re going to have to walk around you have to compress all those materials into the shape of your foot as you can see. I got this thing open inside there. It’s just leather – tongue is a nice beautiful thick piece of leather and that brings me to the eyelids and the laces well laces are replaceable and most guys are going to pull out these tassel on laces and replace them with some leather laces.

I understand it and I would do the same thing now when it comes to the eyelids in the speed laces well. I love the eyelids. I love this nickle old-fashioned eyelet. It’s beautiful especially on this leather especially when you look at that silver eyelid with the contrasting stitch of the white in the triple stitch pattern. It’s just beautiful it matches the well to match that it all works together well speed laces, on the other hand, these three-speed laces, in my opinion, are crap complete crap mainly.

Because I can actually collapse them under the own weight of my hand. I can crush that speed lays down just by pushing on it sure you can bend them back. You can push them in you can bend them back that’s just kind of annoying. So if it was all eyelids. I’d be a lot happier but they give us speed laces so just be ready at some point the speed lace is either going to get bent out or get pushed in and you’re going to have to bend it back out it happens to everybody.

It happens to all of us it’s not a defect of the boot. It’s just the way this piece of hardware works. They’re not the most durable. It’s not the best choice and if it should pop off or if you’re even inclined and you hate them also any cobbler any shoemaker will pull these things out and put some eyelids in there for you and you’ll have some beautiful eyelids all the way up to pass your laces through.

Now the weight on a pair of these iron Rangers is really not that overwhelming especially when you think about what a pair of logger boots would weigh or what even a pair of you know dual density you know glued together safety shoes would weigh these iron Rangers are really not dead heavy this pair is coming in at 4.2 pounds. In my opinion, that’s not heavy at all when you think about some loggers come in at seven pounds of paring even eight and a half pounds of paring depending on how many souls they actually have on them this at 4.2 pounds?

That’s pretty good that’s going to make for a nice heavy-duty boot that can be broken in overtime.
